Audio Storyteller & Oral Historian

Samira Tazari

My name is Samira Tazari and I’m drawn to the magic of audio.

I graduated from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in Television-Radio-Film and Russian Language in May 2014. I had a focus in audio and even made an experimental radio drama.

Since then, I’ve mixed sound for short films as well as indie features and graduated from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies at the Maine College of Art.

I'm a freelance audio producer. Previously, I worked as a podcast producer at Spotify and Slate Studios.

I have also worked as an Oral Historian for the Coney Island History Project, where I truly enjoyed getting to know the stories of business owners, artists, and community leaders that live, work or play in the Coney Island area.

In my work, I look to combine the best of story and sound design.
