Audio Storyteller & Oral Historian

My name is Samira Tazari and I’m drawn to the magic of radio.

I graduated from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in Television-Radio-Film and Russian Language in May 2014. I had a focus in audio and even made an experimental radio drama.

Since then, I’ve mixed sound for short films as well as indie features and graduated from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies at the Maine College of Art.

Currently, I work as an audio producer at Slate Studios, where we make branded podcasts.

I also work as an Oral Historian for the Coney Island History Project, where I truly enjoy getting to know the stories of business owners, artists, and community leaders that live, work or play in the Coney Island area.

In my work, I look to combine the best of story and sound design.
